Heather R. Schuler

Heather Schuler is a Technical Assistance Manager with 10+ years of experience in the behavioral health field. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Since joining JBS in 2019, she has worked in research and evaluation and technical assistance to support a variety of stakeholders in the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders in their communities, improving data quality and reporting, and assessing program outcomes.
Heather currently supports the Office for Victims of Crime Protecting Futures and Recruiting and Developing Peer Recovery Coaches programs, as well as the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Continuums of Care program. Prior, she provided research support and project coordination to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Communities Opioid Response Program Evaluation (RCORP-Eval) to address substance misuse in rural communities.
Outside of her work with JBS, Heather has worked in behavioral healthcare services, academic support, and has research experience in mental/behavioral health, eating disorders, and academic success. As an advocate, she currently serves as an Ambassador for the Eating Disorders Coalition for Research, Policy, & Action, and she has worked with local, state, and federal legislators to support the recognition of eating disorders as an urgent public health matter, youth safety and wellness, access to high-quality nutrition for low-income youth, and support for single parents pursuing higher education.
