MST-BSF is a treatment model for families in the child welfare system where children are both victims and there is parental substance use. This treatment involves intensive safety planning, relapse prevention and additional as needed services to assist with posttraumatic stress disorder and parenting. It received a rating of 2 or supported by research evidence and a high relevance to child welfare from the California Evidence Based Clearinghouse.
